The City of West Hollywood will observe Lesbian and Queer Women’s Visibility Week from April 21 to April 27, 2025, featuring a series of events aimed at highlighting the experiences and contributions of lesbian and queer women, as well as non-binary individuals.
As part of the week-long commemoration, the city will display the Lesbian Pride Flag in medians along Santa Monica Boulevard and at West Hollywood City Hall. Additionally, globe lanterns above Santa Monica Boulevard will be illuminated in pink, orange, and white, reflecting the colors of the Lesbian Pride Flag .
A central event of the week is the WeHo Mini Film Fest, hosted by the L-Project on Sunday, April 27. The festival will take place at the West Hollywood City Council Chambers/Public Meeting Room, located at 625 N. San Vicente Boulevard. Doors open at 12:30 p.m., with screenings beginning at 1:00 p.m. The program includes a selection of films that showcase diverse narratives from lesbian and queer women, and non-binary filmmakers. A brief intermission is scheduled midway through the event. A suggested donation of $10 is encouraged for attendance; however, no one will be turned away due to lack of funds. The City of West Hollywood has a longstanding history of advocating for LGBTQ+ rights and visibility. Since its incorporation in 1984, the city has implemented numerous initiatives to support LGBTQ+ individuals and has been recognized for its efforts to promote inclusivity and equality. Currently, more than 40 percent of West Hollywood residents identify as LGBTQ+, and four of the five members of the City Council are openly LGBTQ+ .
