Bootsy Bellows had a good run. For more than a decade on the Sunset Strip, David Arquette’s puppet shows, a celebrity clientele, an iconic name, pop ups in Paris, the whole vibe was happening and we were there for it. It’s gone now. Sometimes boots are made for walking (over to the So-Fi Stadium) and that’s what happened.
The h.wood Group announced this week Little Luck has stepped in to replace Bootsy. It’s a new elevated Japanese restaurant at the same address, 9229 W. Sunset Boulevard. The venue, called Little Luck, is the company’s first Japanese concept. No opening date yet, development is underway. With a little luck it’ll be a hit. Especially after losing Ta-Ke Sushi back on April 5th.
It’s an in-house transition. Bootsy Bellows was also h.wood’s, co-owned by founders John Terzian and Brian Toll alongside Arquette, who named the club after his mother, a former burlesque dancer and pinup model, and personally dreamed up its vaudeville-meets-nightclub format. Terzian and Toll launched the company in 2008.
“We put a lot of thought into these three new locations and wanted to create them in L.A. neighborhoods where locals were looking for elevated dining concepts,” Toll said. “After more than 20 years of creating hospitality venues in Los Angeles, we still get very excited to bring new offerings to guests and we think these three will be huge hits.”
Three, not one. Little Luck is part of a bigger announcement. The Nice Guy Newport Beach is headed for 2607 West Coast Highway on the waterfront, a second location for the company’s Italian concept. Montana’s, a speakeasy-style restaurant and lounge at 11920 San Vicente Blvd. in Brentwood, is set to open in early 2027.
“Each of these new locations represents the opportunity to create concepts that will fit effortlessly into their respective neighborhoods while remaining consistent with our approach to creating memorable experiences for guests,” Terzian said.
The h.wood Group’s West Hollywood footprint includes Delilah, The Nice Guy, Bird Streets and Harriet’s at 1 Hotel West Hollywood. Delilah Dallas opened earlier this year. Lady Delilah in New York was recently announced.
