Mailbox heist at 836 Westbourne caught on camera

This past Sunday, at about 5:45 am, a perpetrator entered into the common area at 836 Westbourne Drive.  and proceeded to empty the mailboxes in the complex.

The burglar appears to be an african-american male and was dressed in a white hooded sweatshirt and  black cap, and carried a backpack.

In the video it appears the robber had a key to open the locked mail boxes in four separate sections.  He appeared to understand the layout and proceeded to open one section at a time removing the residents mail.

Mailbox thefts has been a recurring problem in West Hollywood.    The City of West Hollywood  ‘If You See Something, Say Something’ campaign encourages residents to report suspicious activity to the authorities in an effort to maintain community safety.
