Meet Brian Holt, WEHOonline’s New Managing Editor

Brian Holt

Dear Readers, Friends, and Community Members,

I’m very pleased to introduce Brian Holt as the new Managing Editor of WEHOonline.

Brian is a longtime West Hollywood Eastside resident. He has been deeply involved in civic life, serving on the City of West Hollywood’s Eastside Working Group and as a former member of the WeHo East Neighborhood Watch Group.  He also served for several years as a volunteer grief counselor in Cedars-Sinai’s Hospice Bereavement Program, providing support and compassion to West Hollywood residents navigating loss.

A veteran media producer and creative leader, Brian was the creator and executive producer of Ryan Seacrest’s first nationally syndicated radio show, Live from the Lounge, and served as an Executive Producer for iHeartRadio’s KFI News from 2010 to 2017.  He was also instrumental in bringing back the iconic show Loveline, reimagining it with a focus on LGBTQ+ inclusion and mental health awareness, helping to introduce a new generation to one of radio’s most trusted voices on relationships and wellness.

As the founder, architect, and executive producer of the award-winning CHANNEL Q — Audacy’s LGBTQ+ national radio and podcast network — Brian launched the network in 2018 with five markets and led its expansion to 35 cities nationwide, from Los Angeles to New York and San Francisco to Washington, D.C. CHANNEL Q was voted by LA Blade as Reader’s Choice for Best Media Outlet in 2019 and Editor’s Choice for Best TV or Radio Station in 2025.

At WEHOonline, Brian will continue helping tell the stories of the West Hollywood community and creating more space for community members themselves to help tell those stories.  Brian says, “My goal is to foster collaboration, elevate local voices, and ensure that WEHOonline continues to reflect the diversity, creativity, and spirit that define our city.”

WEHOonline was recently honored with the 2025 Disability Service Award by the City of West Hollywood’s Disability Advisory Board, and the 2025 WEHO Pride Guide was a nominee for the city’s Creative Communications Award at the West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce’s Creative Business Awards.

Please join me in welcoming Brian to the role. He can be reached at brian.holt@wehoonline.com.

Many thanks,
Larry Block
Publisher, WEHOonline

Mr. Holt, thank you for righting this ship and setting a very positive course of West Hollywood news, human interest and local government information. Within the past month or so it had become increasingly apparent Larry Block had finally brought on someone with news and media chops, someone who understands language, writing and journalistic structure (and proofing). Welcome, Mr. Holt, I for one am very happy you are here.
