Construction has commenced at the former Flaming Saddles location at 8811 Santa Monica Blvd. The large anchor corner at Santa Monica Blvd. and Larrabee has been vacant since 2020. The new tenant is ‘Mic-Drop’ a state of the art karaoke bar with plans to open in early 2026.
The historic 1920’s building was the former home to Larrabee Sounds Studios and later the ‘Eleven Bar and Restaurant before being occupied by country western themed Flaming Saddles in 2015. Shortly after the Covid-19 pandemic owners Jacqui Squatraglia and Chris Barnes gave up the space. For the past few years Fathom Flower had leased the space and hoped to open a cannabis lounge and restaurant but the project never got off the ground.
Construction crews began the demo last week, – one member of the team told WEHOonline, ‘we finally got the green light”.
