The West Hollywood Planning Commission will hold two public hearings this Thursday, April 3, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers at 625 N. San Vicente Boulevard.
The first hearing will consider a proposed zone text amendment that would define and regulate “shared housing”—a housing model in which tenants rent private bedrooms with bathrooms, while sharing common spaces like kitchens, dining areas, and lounges. Often marketed as co-living, these arrangements are gaining popularity as a lower-cost alternative to traditional apartments. The proposed changes to the city’s zoning ordinance would bring West Hollywood’s regulations in line with recent state legislation, including Assembly Bill 682, which allows density bonuses for qualifying shared housing projects. The amendment also includes new design standards for layout, privacy, accessibility, and on-site management.
The second hearing will address an appeal concerning a seven-story, 89-unit affordable housing project at 910–916 N. Wetherly Drive. Originally approved last year, the project returned to the city for minor design changes—including the relocation of an electrical transformer, adjustments to balcony placements, and the removal of a planned green roof. Three nearby residents filed an appeal, arguing the modifications should trigger a new round of Planning Commission review. City staff disagrees and recommends denying the appeal, stating the project still meets all zoning, environmental, and procedural requirements.
Both items are expected to draw public comment. The meeting is open to the public and will also be streamed live on WeHoTV.

Don’t worry – the corrupt city council will vote this in as well. Which developer is lining who’s pockets????
