An elderly driver hit a wall at WeHo’s Plummer Park Monday afternoon. The crash was reported just after 12:15 p.m. in a patio area off Santa Monica Boulevard, near but not inside the Helen Albert Certified Farmers’ Market, according to L.A. County Fire radio traffic.
Radio traffic reviewed by WEHOonline captured firefighters asking for help at 7377 Santa Monica Blvd., the Plummer Park address, with a report of a car into a wall and an elderly driver who seemed confused.
An L.A. County Fire Department representative on scene told WEHOonline it appeared to be a simple mistake behind the wheel, the driver pressing the gas pedal while the car was still in drive when she likely meant to be in reverse.
Deputies from the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station said it was too early in the investigation to say exactly what led up to the crash. The collision remains under review.

Paramedics transported the driver, described as an older woman, to a nearby hospital for evaluation. Fire personnel said they did not see obvious external injuries but wanted her checked out because of her age and how disoriented she seemed after the impact. The woman kept coming back to the same concern, asking where her car was going, how she would get it back and what tow yard it was headed to.
The crash happened during the regular Monday Helen Albert Certified Farmers’ Market at Plummer Park. No shoppers, vendors or market staff were reported injured, and the damage appeared to be limited to the wall and the vehicle.

Why is her age not mentioned? That’s a curious omission.
Well, this is almost an accurate story, except she is not elderly and she only hit the hedge and not the wall! I went to look.
