This morning as I was walking to the gym on Fountain Ave. I happened to look over the covered fence of a nearly completed residential development at the corner of Detroit and Fountain. I often peek over the fence (as many of us do) to check on the progress. However, this time what I saw was not progress but danger. I noticed two masked young guys looking like they were attempting to break in to one of the units. They looked up at me quickly and went back to what they were doing. I was startled and kept on moving then called 911 when I was at a safe distance away to report the incident.
It’s both disheartening and even frightening that people can so brazenly jump a secured fence in broad daylight and potentially commit crimes in West Hollywood.
When the sheriffs arrived they told me I was one of three people who called to report suspicious activity at that location but by the time they got there (approximately 20 min after I called) the alleged suspects had left.
There’s been talk of “masking” (wearing masks when comitting a crime) becoming a criminal violation. New York’s governor is pushing legislation as is Texas. I gotta say – I can’t disagree. If law enforcement can’t wear masks – and they absolutely shouldn’t – then we need to rethink today’s altered reality where masks aren’t just used to protect but also to harm from too many bad actors.
20 minutes? Lol I’m surprised they even came at all. This is an absolute joke. we literally have to take matters in our own hands. Vigilantism has become necessary.
Shouldn’t the headline read “Sheriff Responds …”?
Do we understand why funding the police is important?
Yes, they do. That’s exactly why progressives want to defund: criminals (mostly ‘oppressed minorities’) can’t be held responsible because society (built by ‘racist’ white men) is to blame and you, the tax paying public needs to be punished because equity means equality of outcome regardless of the content of your character
20 minutes is unacceptable
