Thousands flood West Hollywood Park for ‘No Kings’ Protest

‘No Kings’  – protests launched around the country on Saturday including West Hollywood.    Thousands flocked to West Hollywood Park in a sign of solidarity against the unilateral policies of Donald Trump.

Crowds were peaceful and came from all directions to the heart of WeHo.   Inside the park one crowd listened to political speakers.   The event organized by Council member Lauren Meister and her sister Debbie and plans to coincide with Trump’s plans to hold a large-scale military parade to celebrate his birthday along with Flag Day.

Another crowd organized around the northern end with another set of speakers including the Harriet Tubman foundation.   “We know how fascism works” “We stand in solidarity” said one of the speakers.

At the main stage “The most powerful official in this country is the citizen”, “silence our choice as Americans, to worship at their alter, or Donald Trump’s alter.”  “that is our mantel, that is what we are reinforcing today, ‘No Kings’.

Weekends like this are when I love WeHo the most.

The warm feeling of community (and sanity) from these anti-Trump protests were a strong reminder that our crusty far right neighbors in rich Beverly Hills and even the crusty far right lunatics in this comment section who’ve invaded our city are simply a very sour, cruel and selfish minority of idiots that does not represent WeHo and American values.

I’m proud to live here ???️‍??️‍⚧️

Remove your blinders and earplugs, he bluntly admitted he’s punishing us just for having this protest.

I’d bet 50% of the attendees have NO idea what they’re protesting about and are simply looking to get laid.

The energy was terrific. More important, we were part of a nationwide protest that in all likelihood drew the vaunted 3.5% of the national population. (Standard political science holds that change is inevitable if at least 3.5% of a population takes to the streets in a SUSTAINED manner to advocate for that change.)

Lol, did you get that info from MSNBC? Estimates are 4-6 million attended the “protests” which is only 1.5% of the population. Nothing will change except the nut jobs will keep nut jobbing.

Advocate for change in another four years. This march did nothing. The majority of the country voted this past November for this person to be in the seat that he’s in. You get the chance for change when you cast your vote in another four years. Until then…

This absurd mob does not offer a reasonable alternative to our very effective president.
