The Disability Advisory Board will hold its annual Disability Health Fair, this Thursday, October 9th at Plummer Park Rooms 5 & 6 @ 11am-3pm.
Flu shots, blood pressure and hearing checks along with other health services will be offered FREE to the public. In addition there will be community outreach booths for organizations to promote their services and share information on fall prevention, emergency preparedness, healthy aging resources and more.
This year marks the 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The landmark legislation works to guarantee equal access and opportunity for people with disabilities.
On Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at 6 p.m. the City of West Hollywood will host the 27th Annual Disability Service Awards at a special televised meeting of the Disabilities Advisory Board at the City’s Council Chambers/Public Meeting Room located at 625 N. San Vicente Boulevard.
The Disability Service Awards will also be broadcast live on WeHoTV on Spectrum Cable Channel 10 in West Hollywood and will also be livestreamed on the City’s WeHoTV YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/wehotv and on the City’s website at www.weho.org/wehotv; and via the AppleTV, Amazon FireTV, AndroidTV, and Roku platforms by searching for “WeHoTV.”
This year’s Disability Service Awards honorees are:
· Lovedy Brydon Differently Abled Individual Award: Stephen David Simon and Adrienne Omansky (Posthumous)
· Media Award: WEHOonline. This is the 3rd win for this publication. In 2014 Henry Scott won this award for WEHOville. In 2024 Brandon Ross Garcia won this award on behalf of WEHOonline.
· Nonprofit Award: The Vance North Necessities of Life Program (NOLP) at APLA Health
