Sheriff’s deputies were still sorting things out on the sidewalk in front of the Troubadour at 9081 Santa Monica Blvd. just before midnight Friday when a Citizen app stream caught at least one person detained on the ground near the building’s entrance. Scanner traffic had brought multiple units to the scene. A 911 caller reported a disturbance at the historic music venue, and deputies from the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station were on scene by 11:30 p.m.

Two people were flagged in the initial call to the cops. The first, a white adult male in a blue shirt and blue-orange shorts, was described as extremely intoxicated. The second, also a white adult male, was wearing a black jacket and reportedly hitting a glass door with his phone. Video from the live stream showed what appeared to be a civilian, possibly a witness in a black shirt standing over a person seated on the sidewalk against the building’s wall, with a deputy nearby and multiple units blocking the curb lane. No injuries were confirmed. Staff from the Troubadour was seen sweeping up what looked to be a bunch of glass on the sidewalk in front of club. Official details of the incident remain unverified pending an official statement from the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station.

The Troubadour has anchored that stretch of Santa Monica Boulevard since 1957 and draws crowds most nights of the week.
