Uchi West Hollywood Partners with LA Magazine on Limited-Edition Sushi Roll for a Cause

Uchi West Hollywood, one of the city’s newest high-end sushi destinations, is partnering with Los Angeles Magazine for a limited-time culinary collaboration in August. To celebrate the restaurant’s inclusion in LA Mag’s “Best New Restaurants” issue, Uchi has created a special menu item: the “We Love LA Roll.”

Proceeds from the roll will support World Central Kitchen, the nonprofit organization founded by Chef José Andrés that provides meals in response to humanitarian crises around the world.

The collaboration was announced during a live segment featuring LA Magazine and Uchi’s culinary team. Chefs walked viewers through how to assemble the roll, which includes grilled P-tender, a seasonal citrus-based sauce, and fresh summer ingredients that highlight Uchi’s creative, ingredient-driven approach to Japanese cuisine.

Located on Santa Monica Boulevard, Uchi is the latest concept from Hai Hospitality, known for pushing boundaries with contemporary Japanese fare. The West Hollywood outpost continues the brand’s reputation for precision, creativity, and understated elegance.

For those who prefer an at-home experience, Uchi also offers private sushi chef services. Guests can book events where chefs guide them through a personalized sushi-making experience—just ask for the “We Love LA” roll when reserving.

The roll will be available throughout the month of August.

Tickets are a remarkably low $150 per person. The list of delectables and extras you get with the 10-course meal is astounding!

This is for the maki rolling class.
