WEHOonline broke the news of the robbery Friday afternoon as it unfolded. The suspect has since been arrested.
Shawn Green, 35 who allegedly robbed the US Bank branch at 8631 Santa Monica Blvd. in West Hollywood Friday afternoon has been taken into custody after the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station’s real-time watch center tracked him as he fled, according to Sgt. Omar Luvano.
The suspect entered the bank, displayed a weapon, and left with an undisclosed amount of cash, Luvano said.
Using the station’s watch center, deputies monitored the suspect in real time as he fled and relayed his location to responding units. He was detained and arrested.
According to the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station, a Drone as First Responder deputy monitoring the Real-Time Watch Center used a newly installed live-feed camera system to locate and track the suspect following the robbery. The station said all stolen currency was fully recovered.
Video obtained by WEHOonline shows the arrest taking place at Holloway Drive and La Cienega Boulevard, where deputies confronted the suspect, who was found to be in possession of a large firearm.
Luvano credited the watch center’s camera network as instrumental in the arrest. “Those cameras are worth their weight in gold,” he said. The station currently operates 60 cameras and is seeking to expand the program.
The investigation remains ongoing, the station said.

A man reportedly robbed the US Bank branch at 8631 Santa Monica Blvd. in West Hollywood Friday afternoon after passing a demand note to a teller and fleeing on foot, according to two Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department radio dispatches.
Deputies responded to the branch Code 3. No weapon was seen during the robbery.
Video obtained by WEHOonline from the Citizen app shows deputies walking out of the bank without a suspect in custody. The suspect remained at large as of this report.
The suspect is described as an adult male wearing black glasses, a dark baseball hat, a dark blue jacket, and white sleeves.
Video also shows a bank employee getting into a sheriff’s deputy vehicle, apparently to provide information to investigators.
A West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station deputy confirmed to WEHOonline deputies responded to the scene and said the incident had been turned over to the station’s major crimes unit. They said more details are expected to be released soon. We’ll update you as soon as we know more.

The guy was on foot.
I was in the bank just before this happened. They have two security doors you had to be buzzed in but they stopped doing that so hopefully they will go back to having this security measure. The team at this branch are amazing. Keep them and customers safe
