WeHo Politicians hit the road to higher office.

West Hollywood politicians are on the move.   Literally.     West Hollywood bred politicians Lindsey Horvath,  Jeffrey Prang, and current Council member John Erickson are criss-crossing the city, district, and county in support of their political campaigns.    WeHo is the root of politics in Southern California.

Lindsey is literally moving on up.   She recently gave up her rent-controlled apartment on Harper Ave. in West Hollywood for new digs in Hancock Park.   While Horvath has not yet announced her intention to seek re-election for her current seat on the Los Angeles County Supervisors a campaign fundraising account has been set up.     The move has triggered speculation that Supervisor Horvath will challenge Karen Bass for Mayor of Los Angeles.

Former West Hollywood Council member and Mayor Jeffrey Prang is running for re-election as the Los Angeles County Assessor.    Prang served on the West Hollywood City Council from 1997 to December 2014, before seeking higher office.   He ran to replace John Noguez who had been indicted for corruption.   Prang is largely given credit for cleaning up the Assessor’s office having won re-election in 2018, 2022, and seeking another term.    There are no term limits for County Assessor.

West Hollywood City Council member John Erickson is running for the California State Senate in District 24 in the seat currently occupied by State Senator Ben Allen.   Erickson, only his second term on the WeHo Council has a wide list of endorsements including both of his WeHo colleagues, Horvath and Prang.   The odds are long in a crowded field but Erickson is a workhorse with solid endorsements and the expected support UNITE HERE Local 11, as they expand their reach statewide.

With Prang and Horvath occupying two of four Los Angeles County positions voters appear to support the ‘WeHo’ brand.   Only Los Angeles County Sheriff Luna, and Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan Hochman emanated from a city other than WeHo.    That could work for or against Erickson in his bid to be the State Senator representing District 24.

Together, the trio of Horvath, Prang and Erickson bring our West Hollywood values and ideals across the region heralding West Hollywood as the epicenter of county and state politics.

I pray that joker Erickson loses at everything he pursues in life. His values are so deplorable it makes my skin crawl.

Horvath has left her West Hollywood “values” behind and is better woman for it. I did not vote for her last time, but will in the future.

Horvath would be just as disastrous as Bass. Erickson is a joke.

I would be seriously surprised if Horvath ran for Mayor of LA. As noted, she’s from WeHo, and frankly, hasn’t done squat as Supervisor that in any way impacts a typical voter. Nor has she been a lead media presence, nor created any value for the City of Los Angeles.

Title is deceiving per usual. Prang is not moving for higher office, he’s seeking reelection in the current office he’s in now, and if Horvath lives in Hancock Park, they why are you calling her a WeHo politician? This isn’t news. It’s not an op-ed piece. It’s just incorrect filler jiberish.

Without exception……all of these people can only exist in Government, Academia or an NGO.

They all have no shame……so they are well suited for elected office. They also have a long track record of zero achievement .

Don’t look now “Jeff “you’re doing the exact same thing. You just have a different opinion and so I guess that’s why you’re getting personal. Talk about acting like a “little man.”

Your extremism is an example of one of the biggest problems facing our political society today. It is binary. One/Zero, Yes/No. Black/White. That’s not how humans work. We are more analog and flow. Your statement “They also have a long track record of zero achievements”. Really? You were taking literary license I suppose. I do not know you from your nom-de-plume so for give me if this is insulting, but you’re not worth the time to find achievements for the trio. Wouldn’t argue in regards to Mr. Erickson, but I know Jeff Prang’s time in office has seen a vast… Read more »
