WEHOonline to release confidential transcript of WeHoME Employee Survey

Last year WEHOonline uncovered a number of complaints from whistleblowers about the practices at West Hollywood City Hall.

Jeff Jones, a current city hall employee blew the cover on his treatment while fighting to protect his job. The results of these complaints prompted two surveys by city hall management.

The first survey was conducted by the city and received little participation from city hall employees. “The city did the first survey but hardly anyone participated because we all knew retaliation is real” a current city hall staff member told WEHOonline.

This prompted a second survey conducted by WeHoME, the employee union for the City of West Hollywood. “Union president Hernan Molina suggested that both surveys be compared and it was evident City Manager David Wilson did not like that idea” said the city staff member who was in the room with Molina and Wilson.

WeHoME Union then solicited Insightlink an independent analysis firm to conduct the comprehensive survey of West Hollywood City Hall employees. The report which was finalized in December 2024 had a 79% participation rate among the almost 200 city hall staff members invited to participate in the online survey. The last report of city hall staff conducted by WeHoME in 2018 had a 75% participation rate.

The comprehensive and confidential report was presented to the city council and drew surprise said one person in the room. “The mayor [Chelsea Byers} was present during the union meeting    She was shocked to know how we all feel about the executives.   Nepotism, bullying, corruption, no trust in executives at all.” said the city staff member.

The unfiltered results of the survey will be presented in a multi-part series throughout this week to all readers. Questions and their responses will fall in 4 main categories:   Commitment, Culture, Communication and Compensation.   We think you will find the results very interesting.
