Competition Pool Remains Open; Updates Available at weho.org/pool
The City of West Hollywood has temporarily closed the Recreation pool at the West Hollywood Aquatic and Recreation Center (ARC) in West Hollywood Park due to a tear in the pool membrane. The city says the closure is necessary to address a safety risk and that repairs will take place during the week of June 16.
The larger adjacent Competition pool remains open to the public during the repair period.
The Recreation pool is expected to reopen on Monday, June 23, 2025. According to the City, “any closure is frustrating for pool users” and staff will work to “reopen the Recreation pool for community use as rapidly as possible.”
The closure affects a variety of programs, including:
-
Open Swims
-
Swim Lessons
-
Recreation Swims
-
Water Fitness classes
The City’s Recreation Services staff will notify all impacted groups and participants. Updates will be posted at weho.org/pool as they become available.

It’s absolutely ridiculous. Somebody needs to lose a job over this at the very minimum. I don’t… Read more »
I would never question the courage…..of anyone that would swim in that pool.
