Update: 6:45a Wednesday Dec 17th: A West Hollywood City Hall power outage was still unresolved Tuesday night after power briefly returned in the late afternoon, then went out again, prompting the City to keep the building closed to the public while crews worked on repairs with Southern California Edison.
City officials said generators were operating, but functionality inside City Hall was limited, so in-person counter service was put on hold. City services continued during the outage, with staff working remotely or from other City facilities. Informational signage was also posted at City Hall for anyone who arrived in person.
Earlier in the day, the City said it expected power to be restored later Tuesday and that City Hall would remain closed for in-person services while online and phone help stayed available.
In an update later Tuesday, the City said power was restored at West Hollywood City Hall in the late afternoon, but went down again a short time later. Crews were working on repairs.
Early Wednesday morning the City told WEHOonline City Hall will remain closed for in-person services on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2025. City services will still be available online at www.weho.org, and phone lines for all departments will remain open. Community members can call (323) 848-6400 with questions or specific concerns.
Power was eventually restored by Thursday.
