A West Hollywood hit-and-run crash sent a driver fleeing early Monday morning after crashing into another car on Santa Monica Boulevard near Larrabee Street, a witness told WEHOonline.
The hit-and-run happened in the early morning hours of Monday, Feb. 2nd at Santa Monica Boulevard and Larrabee Street.
WEHOonline reached out to the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station, which confirmed the crash but said further details were pending.
What Witnesses Saw
A witness at the scene said one car ended up on the sidewalk near Revolver Video Bar, while another vehicle was hit in front of Fiesta Cantina.
The witness told WEHOonline the driver of a black SUV ran from the crash scene, heading north up Larrabee Street toward Dream Queen.
“Just talked to another witness, the person in the black SUV ran from the scene after accident, went up street where Dream Queen is,” the witness said. “So hit and run.”
The fleeing driver was described as male.
Crash Aftermath
The collision left a dark sedan with heavy front-end damage sitting in the middle of Santa Monica Boulevard. The car’s hood was crushed and the front bumper was torn apart.
It’s believed no one was hurt in the crash.
Anyone who saw what happened or has information about the black SUV should call the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station at (310) 855-8850.
This story will be updated when more details become available.
What’s the story here. People I knew have been killed in that location crossing the street … Same place the Entry Exit Gate to Weho Sheriff for Sheriff cars/SUV to go out on calls and bring detained (or arrested) people into the station.
Who can we ask to be more carefully probably the second most common pedestrian deaths by cars trucks..
Of course I doubt Fountain will ever lose MOST DEATHS OF PEDESTRIANS..
Maybe weho should work on that issue. The hundreds of promises have gone dark but maybe one more try
And yet let’s keep adding bike lanes and sharrows onto streets with vehicles to hit. I am glad nobody was hit this time
Here’s where those cameras that the council wants to eliminate would come in handy to track down the person that fled and hold them accountable. The council’s misguided idea to eliminate these cameras would only hurt residents. Bad idea.
Thank goodness for no more “Outzones” or “Parklets”
Sigh…just another day in the city. People can no longer drive in the city…no one obeys any of the traffic laws any more i.e. they no longer stop at stop signs, proceed to go through red lights and go well above thet speed limit. the city is sadly falling apart!
