The West Hollywood West Residents Association is asking neighbors to come to tonight’s Public Safety Commission meeting and speak during public comment.
Two events seem to be driving the push. An attempted home invasion last Thursday night. And a burglary and attempted robbery about two weeks ago that took more than an hour to resolve and drew roughly 15 Sheriff’s vehicles. Suspects in the home invasion were reportedly caught.
“Catching criminals after a crime occurs is only part of the solution,” the association wrote to residents. “Preventing crime before it happens is equally important.”
Their asking for more Sheriff’s patrols in neighborhoods, faster response times, and expanded use of cameras, drones, and AI-assisted monitoring. It’s urging residents to come ready to put those concerns on the record.
The meeting is at 6:00 p.m. at West Hollywood Park Council Chambers, 625 N. San Vicente Blvd. Speaker cards are required to address the Commission.
Nobody showed up.
Drew 15 Sheriff’s vehicles? Now I ask you honestly isn’t that just a tad too many? Isn’t that around 1/2 of the Sheriff’s total? Is that really necessary?
