The West Hollywood West Residents Association is asking their members and neighbors to show up at a community meeting to discuss the new rules and regulations for constructions and the upzoning of residential neighborhoods located near a transit corridor.
From the West Hollywood West Residents Association:
Stand Up for West Hollywood West – Protect Our Way of Life!
Our neighborhood is under threat. The City’s Zoning Improvement Program (ZIP) would bring up-zoning, bigger buildings, more density, and change the very character of West Hollywood West.
If we don’t show up, we risk losing the scale, history, and way of life that makes our neighborhood unique.
📅 In-Person Community Workshop
Date: Wednesday, October 8, 2025
Wednesday, October 8, 2025
Time: 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM
Location: Plummer Park, Rooms 5 & 6
7377 Santa Monica Blvd, West Hollywood, CA
This is the moment to:
- Say NO to up-zoning
- Protect West Hollywood West
- Defend our homes, our scale, and our neighborhood’s future
👉 Your presence matters. The City needs to hear from residents who care about protecting West Hollywood West—not just developers.
Stand up. Speak out. Protect our neighborhood.
What exactly are the boundaries of the “West Hollywood West” Residents Association?
And wouldn’t this affect ALL of WeHo, not just the “West” residents?!?
As a practical matter, the lots in West Hollywood West are so tiny, even if you go up two stories, at best you get 3 maybe four small, unmarketable units so the development proposed by Sacramento is just not practical or fiscally viable. Housing advocates really need to focus on enhancing mixed use development along commercial corridors if they want to see
an expansion of our housing stock. This proposal would have minimal impact on housing but could have serious negative impacts on the quality of life in this neighborhood.
You should look at the plans for WEHO council to obliterate West Hollywood west with apartment buildings of 5 to 7 floors. Their plan doesn’t show a single family home left.
No.
I sympathize heartily, but this is why we have a housing shortage, affordability issues, and homelessness.
This is idea has been spread by the developers.
You cannot build and develop a successful affordable housing program on some of the most expensive land in the nation. Additionally, all the major transit corridors are still available. Is Pico, built all the way to downtown with mix use structures that include affordable housing? The answer is no. Why not? Because it’s not about affordable housing.
What is the penalty. other than getting sued by the State?
Exactly. WeHo barely reaches the threshold of inhabitants.fir SB79 to apply but WeHo won’t fight back. It’s not about affordable homes just payback to developers
Exactly. This initiative doesn’t address home affordability at all. It’s just a ploy by John Erickson and Danny Hang to pay back the developers who funded their campaigns to become council members. Disgusting. We need to stop this initiative and kick them out of Council. WeHo deserves better
I believe you mean SHOW up
