WeHo’s World Cup excitement is kicking in, starting with the City hosting two free fan zones this summer tied to the FIFA World Cup 2026.
The first event will be at Plummer Park this weekend.
The Plummer Park Fan Zone runs Friday, June 12, and Saturday, June 13, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at 7377 Santa Monica Boulevard. It’s free and open to the public. Some of the fun includes a mini pitch for younger fans, food vendors, music, and interactive games.
Opening night features a live screening of the U.S. Men’s National Team’s first match, scheduled for 6 p.m. on June 12.
A second zone will be at West Hollywood Park and runs Thursday, June 25, through Sunday, June 28. Come on down and get in the zone. It’s free and open to all ages. If you wanna take part as a vendor, performer, sponsor, or volunteer, the City is accepting applications here.
Some of the activations will include a beer garden for the grown-ups and a kids zone with a mini soccer pitch for the little ones.
Now here’s the cool part. The so West Hollywood centerpiece to all of the fun — the U.S. premiere of Discofoot. What the heck’s a Discofoot, you might ask? It’s a full soccer match with two halves, a halftime, and goals, but with one rule change: every player must dance instead of run. C’mon! Who doesn’t wanna do that?
Two teams of 12 compete, scoring goals and earning style points through dancing. A DJ runs music throughout, and the match is officiated by one referee and three dance judges.
Discofoot was created by choreographers Petter Jacobsson and Thomas Caley of France’s Ballet de Lorraine. It debuted in 2016 with the West Hollywood show being its premier U.S. performance. Here’s your chance to make some history and have a helluva good time doing it.
Los Angeles last hosted the World Cup in 1994, when the Rose Bowl held the final, and this summer the city hosts eight matches while the official FIFA Fan Festival runs simultaneously at the LA Memorial Coliseum. The full tournament runs June 11 through July 19 across North America, with tons of WeHo FIFA fun all summer long.
All free. Details and applications at fanzones.weho.org.
