Amanda Bynes, who put our town in the news April 6 when she was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence in WeHo, pleaded not guilty Monday (Oct. 15) to two other misdemeanor counts of driving on a suspended license. City News Service reports that the charges — filed Sept. 4 — were the result of crashes on April 10 and Aug. 4. The not guilty pleas were entered on Bynes’ behalf by her lawyer, and she didn’t appear in court.
Bynes also pleaded not guilty last month in Van Nuys Superior Court to misdemeanor hit-and-run charges stemming from the April and August crashes.
And finally, Bynes pleaded not guilty on June 6 in Beverly Hills Superior Court to the West Hollywood drunk driving charge, which includes an allegation that she refused an officer’s request to submit to a chemical test. She is due back in court Oct. 29 for a hearing on that.
Bynes is known for her roles in Nickelodeon’s “All That” and “The Amanda Show” and films such as “Hairspray,” “What a Girl Wants,” “Easy A,” “She’s the Man” and “Sydney White” — a reputation that is about to be eclipsed by that for being hell on wheels.
