Newark Mayor Cory Booker Comes to WeHo to Raise Campaign Dollars

The buzz around the London West Hollywood next Monday won’t be about one of the Kardashians, thank God. This time young Hollywood will be gathering at the hotel at 1020 N. San Vicente Blvd. south of Sunset, Deadline Hollywood reports, with wallets out to show their support for Cory Booker’s campaign for a U.S Senate seat. Booker is currently mayor of Newark, N.J., in so many ways about as far from West Hollywood as one can get. But he has a reputation as a progressive Democrat who some hail as the next Barack Obama. He is expected to announce soon his candidacy to fill the seat left vacant by the death Monday of incumbent Frank Lautenberg. The special election is Oct. 16.
