The Andaz
[hr]
Once WeHo’s hard-living, hard-rocking “Riot House,” the Andaz hotel still attracts celebrity guests, although these days they’re more likely to be filming a reality show than throwing televisions out of hotel room windows. The east-facing rooftop pool area — typically reserved for guests but occasionally open for special events — offers an impressive view of the L.A. city skyline and the Hollywood hills.
You only need to get to the rooftop pool deck to marvel at that view, but we managed to make it even higher for a view that literally took our breath away. (We were amazed, and holding our breath in terror). We signed a liability waiver, ascended a service ladder and made our way to the satellite-lined service area at the highest level of the hotel’s roof, where intrepid photographer Jon Viscott sidled as close as he dared to the edge.

A grad filter was used to prevent blown out skies and darken them up. Other photos were contrast balanced in Lightroom so you could see more detail in the shadow areas. We had a lot of skyline to cover with quite a variation in the sky. The sky was pretty clear and very blue on the days we were shooting. Go out and shoot on a clear day and show… Read more »
Why did you guys add SO MUCH blue to the photos. They are smothered in blue and that is a photoshop thing, not the way the scenes look in real life. Some people just go crazy with the photoshop.
