New WeHo Neighborhood Watch Group Meets Feb. 17

West Hollywood’s newest Neighborhood Watch group will host its first meeting on Feb. 17 at 906 N. Doheny Drive.

The Cynthia-Sunset Neighborhood Watch group will serve residents of the area bounded by Cynthia Street on the south, Sunset Boulevard on the north, Doheny Drive on the west and San Vicente Boulevard on the east. Items on the Feb. 17 agenda include an introduction of the Neighborhood Watch program, a discussion of how to best maintain the program, a discussion of safety issue and what to do if one suspects a crime, a presentation of crime statistics and an update about mailbox thefts in West Hollywood. The meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m.

Neighborhood Watch is a national crime prevention program developed in response to requests from law enforcement officers to find a way to involve community residents in crime prevention.

The Cynthia-Sunset Neighborhood Watch group will be West Hollywood’s 14th such group.

I hope we get enough participation this time around. It would be good to have neighbors looking our for each other.
