March 5-11: $5,560 in Vehicle Burglaries and Two Aggravated Assaults in WeHo

Below is the weekly crime report from the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station that calls out incidents in WeHo from March 5 to March 11. The list includes each case number. This report lists Part 1 (serious) crimes for the date range shown and is not meant to be a complete list of all serious crimes.

A more comprehensive listing of incidents in West Hollywood usually can be found on Crimemapping.com, which receives information about crimes from local law enforcement agencies and makes that information available to the public. However the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department has decided instead to provide monthly crime reports by service area rather than use Crimemapping, which provides daily updates.

March 6

Aggravated Assault – Knife. 7300 block Santa Monica Boulevard at 4 p.m. A man pulled a knife and threatened an employee after being told to leave the store due to previous shoplifting incidents. #01463

Grand Theft (Suspect Arrested). 1100 block N La Brea Avenue. At 11:42 a.m. A man removed a wallet and briefcase from the unlocked vehicle. Responding deputies located and arrested the suspect. The stolen wallet was recovered. The briefcase is still missing. Loss $1,250. #01456

Vehicle Burglary. 900 block North La Jolla Avenue between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. An unknown suspect removed a watch, sunglasses, and two ice axes from the interior. No sign of forced entry. Loss $1,500. #01506

Vehicle Burglary. 900 block North La Jolla Avenue between 6 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. the next day. An unknown suspect removed a pair of sunglasses and a roadside kit from the rear cargo area. Loss $440. #01508

March 7

March 8

Aggravated Assault – Other Weapon 1000 block North Vista Street at 5:30 pm. A man was poked on the back of his neck with a sharp object. The victim had two associates inside of residence when the incident occurred. #01505

Grand Theft (Suspect Arrested). 7100 block Santa Monica Boulevard at 9:07 p.m. A man removed two cell phones, speakers, clothing and alcohol from a display area and left the store without payment. Responding deputies located and arrested the suspect. All of the stolen items except the two cell phones were recovered. Loss $1,750. #01509

Vehicle Burglary. 8900 block Lloyd Place between 6:30 p.m. and 7:10 a.m. An unknown suspect forced the passenger’s side window down and removed a handicap placard from the interior. Loss $20. #01513

Vehicle Burglary. 8200 block Fountain Avenue between 8 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the front passenger’s side window and removed a leather handbag from the front seat. Loss $170. #01516

March 9

March 10

Aggravated Assault – Other Weapon. 7300 block Santa Monica Boulevard 2:56 p.m. A security guard was punched one time in the face by a man after he was asked to leave the area, which is private property. The suspect returned to the location a short time later and struck the victim with a metal rod. #01542

Vehicle Burglary. 1000 block Alfred Street between midnight and 6 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the front passenger’s side window and removed a gym bag containing clothing from the front seat. Loss $300. #01535

Vehicle Burglary. 1300 block Hayworth Avenue between 1 and 10:15 a.m. An unknown suspect removed a laptop computer from the rear cargo area. No sign of forced entry. Loss $1,700. #01536

March 11

Grand Theft. 900 block Hancock Avenue at 8:34 a.m. An unknown suspect removed a backpack containing a wallet and credit cards from the front seat and a cell phone from the center console of the unlocked vehicle. Loss $1,500. #01553

Other Burglary (Suspect Arrested). 8400 block Sunset Boulevard at 7:32 a.m. A man pried the rear door open to gain access and also pried two additional interior doors open to gain access to a closet containing an ATM and safe. The suspect was arrested by responding deputies. Loss $ Unknown (damaged doors). #01552
