Last Week Was a Quiet (But Expensive) One for Crime in WeHo

Last week was a quiet one when it came to crime in West Hollywood (with the exception of those girls and boys celebrating Cinco de Mayo with their fists in an alley along Santa Monica Boulevard. But the weekly crime report by the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station lists one crime, on May 2, that suggests you should keep your $100,000-plus watches and briefcase under lock and key when you aren’t home. Each incident listed below includes the case number

April 30

Vehicle Burglary. 7600 block Romaine Street between 1 and 2 p.m. An unknown suspect used force on the driver’s side door to gain entry and removed a purse containing an iPad, passport, and $300 cash from the front seat. Loss $2,500. #02826

May 1

Grand Theft 8600 block Sunset Boulevard at 6:30 p.m. A man and a women placed several pieces of children’s clothing into bags and left the store without payment. Loss $5,000. #02827

May 2

Residential Burglary. 1200 block Sunset Plaza Drive between 10:30 and 11:55 p.m. An unknown suspect used an open bedroom window to gain access and removed two watches and a briefcase from the bedroom. Loss $116,000. #02861

May 3

Vehicle Burglary. 1100 block Poinsettia Place between 7 and 9:10 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the trunk window and removed an iPad from the back door storage area. Loss $400. #02868

May 4

Residential Burglary. 800 block North Kings Road between 11:15 a.m. and 1:40 p.m. An unknown suspect pried the front door open and ransacked the interior. The suspect removed a laptop computer and a watch from the bedroom. Loss $2,600. #02901

Armed Robbery. 600 block San Vicente Boulevard at 1:10 am. Two men were walking on San Vicente Boulevard when a vehicle pulled to a stop next to them. Two men exited the vehicle while armed with a handgun and demanded property from the victims and they complied. The suspects returned to the vehicle and fled the area. Loss $1,700. #02913

May 5

Grand Theft. 400 block Norwich Drive at 4:50 p.m. A women removed a cell phone from the residence. Loss $1,000. #02951

Grand Theft. 1200 block Hayworth Avenue between 8 p.m. and 7 a.m. An unknown suspect removed a wallet containing credit cards, cologne, and a cell phone from the interior of the residence. Loss $1,800. #02943

May 6

Aggravated Assault – Hands, Fist, Feet. 600 block North Robertson Boulevard at 1:35 a.m. A man was crossing the street when he was approached from behind by two men who punched him several times in the face and body. #02938

Grand Theft. 8500 block Melrose Avenue at 1 p.m. An unknown suspect removed a wallet containing credit cards, gift cards, and $750 cash from the victim’s purse. The purse was hanging on the back of a chair when the incident occurred. Loss $2,700. #02958

Vehicle Burglary. 500 block Westmount Drive at 9:15 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed a laptop computer from the back seat. Loss $600. #02962
