Tonight’s Public Safety Commission meeting has been canceled at the last moment because of the lack of a quorum.
The monthly meeting was set to take place at 6:30 p.m. at Fiesta Hall in Plummer Park. On the agenda were monthly reports from the L.A. County Fire Department, the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station and the Block by Block security ambassadors. Also scheduled was an update on city street lights.
No quorum? Don’t these commissioners realize that they are appointed to be liason’s to the community and the public deserves the right to be heard on any issue of the day. One of the most important public safety meetings of the year that opens the discussion on issues involving this past weekend’s Pride. That means 3 out of 7 commissioners opted out for something other than their oath of office. Glad to have the night off but there are issues that needed discussion and attention.
Looks like I will have to wait until next month’s Public Safety Commission meeting to push the idea of having a few EMT’s (Emergency Medical Technicians) or Paramedics with Psychological and Deescalation Training, working along side of the Security Ambassadors.
