You’d think the person stopping at Sunset Plaza on Sunday night would have been wearing that diamond bracelet and necklace and not leaving it in a backpack on the back seat in the car. That $190,000 break-in and theft was the most expensive lesson chronicled by the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station in its weekly report on serious crimes. Then there was that $16,000 watch, taken at knifepoint by a visitor invited into the home late at night.
And the clumsy bank robber who on Friday passed notes demanding money to tellers at the Bank of America branch at 8655 Beverly Blvd. and the Chase Bank branch at 8951 Santa Monica Blvd. He walked away with nothing. Given that both banks suffered the same issue in March, and that robber was arrested, it’s likely the tellers really know how to deal with that sort of situation.
Because of scheduling issues, the Sheriff’s Station hasn’t issued crime reports for the period ranging from June 25 to July 8.
