The City of West Hollywood is co-sponsoring the Born This Way Foundation’s upcoming “21 Days to Be Kind” panel discussion. The event will take place on Tuesday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the City Council Chambers, located at 625 N. San Vicente Blvd. The event is free, but seating is limited. Those who want to attend are asked to RSVP online.

Inspired by the idea that performing an action for 21 consecutive days helps turn it into a habit, the Born This Way Foundation challenges people to be kind to themselves and to their communities each and every day from Sept. 1 to Sept. 21. The “21 Days to Be Kind” event will feature a conversation with actress and advocate Monique Coleman; Sarah Schuster, mental health editor of The Mighty mental health web site; Born This Way Foundation President and Co-Founder Cynthia Germanotta, and Channel Kindness reporter Elissa Lee speaking about the power and potential of kindness.

“Kindness is so important. It’s at the root of the City of West Hollywood’s core values, which include respect and support for people,” said West Hollywood City Councilmember John Heilman. “Particularly now, as we experience so much unkind behavior and rhetoric in our national political life, this event will highlight the Born This Way Foundation’s uplifting work. I hope this inspires people in the community to be kind to one another.”

Led by Lady Gaga and her mother Cynthia Germanotta, the Born This Way Foundation was founded in 2012 to support the wellness of young people and empower them to create a kinder and braver world. To achieve these goals, Born This Way Foundation leverages evidence-based programming and authentic partnerships in order to provide young people with kinder communities and improved mental health resources.

Always be kind because everyone you meet carries a burden you can’t see.

It’s ironic and rich that “Lady” (using the term loosely) Gaga is all about an organization about “kindness”. Why doesn’t she start with the fact that she is nothing about “kindness” when she regularly displays the carcasses of hundreds of dead animals, tortured and burned to death from the inside out from electric anal probes to “harvest” their pelts for her fur coats. What a hypocrite. All her “born this way” LGBT advocacy is great, but then when she is an uber-rich, hypocritical, callous, cavalier, greedy, vicious, self-indulgent c-nt in wearing fur, it negates any claim she has to promoting… Read more »
