Vehicle Burglaries Were on the Increase, with 21 in West Hollywood Last Week

The West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station reports that there were 21 vehicle burglaries in the city between Sept. 10 and 16, an increase from the 13 reported the previous week, but still fewer than the 33 reported the week before.

The Sheriff’s Station continues to remind residents and visitors to not leave anything visible in the interiors of their cars.

The report below lists those vehicle break-ins and other Part 1 (serious) crimes that took place in WeHo from Sept. 10 to 16.

Sept. 10

Vehicle Burglary. 8700 block Sunset Blvd between 6 and 9:10 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear driver’s side window and removed property from the back seat. #06044

Vehicle Burglary. 8700 block Sunset Blvd between 5:45 and 9:30 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the front passenger’s side window and removed property from the front seat. #06044

Sept. 11

Residential Burglary. 900 block Curson Avenue between 11 p.m. and 8:30 a.m. An unknown suspect removed a bathroom window screen at the rear of the residence to gain entry and ransacked the interior. The suspect removed two flat screen TV’s and a sound bar speaker system. #06076

Grand Theft. 1200 block North Genesee Avenue between 8 and 11 a.m. An unknown suspect removed property from the trunk of the unlocked vehicle. #06077

Other Burglary (Suspects Arrested). 600 block Robertson Blvd at 5:25 pm. Two men removed a mannequin with a leather backpack attached to it and ran to an awaiting vehicle. Responding deputies stopped the vehicle and arrested four suspects. #06084

Strong Arm Robbery. Lexington Avenue / Spaulding Avenue at 12:50 a.m. A man was walking on Lexington Avenue when two men approached him from behind. The suspects took the man’s wallet and cell phone and fled the area on foot. #06067

Aggravated Assault – Other Weapon (Suspect Arrested). 8600 block Holloway Drive at 10 a.m. A man hit another man on the head with vice lock pliers during a road rage incident. The suspect was arrested. #06107

Grand Theft. 800 block Palm Avenue between 9:30 and 10:45 p.m. An unknown suspect removed property from the back seat of the unlocked vehicle. #06118

Strong Arm Robbery (Suspect Arrested). 8300 block Santa Monica Blvd at 7:10 p.m. A man removed several foods items and left the store without payment. When confronted by a security guard, the suspect pushed the guard twice in the chest in an attempt to escape. The suspect was arrested by responding deputies. #06116

Residential Burglary. 1000 block Martel Avenue at 1:54 p.m. A man used an unlocked rear door to gain entry and removed a purse and laptop computer. The suspect fled the area on foot after being confronted by the homeowner. #06133
