A homeless man was stabbed Monday morning near the corner of La Cienega Boulevard and Romaine Street just a few dozen feet south of the West Hollywood border.

The watch commander at the Los Angeles Police Department Wilshire Division headquarters confirmed the stabbing occurred at 7:52 a.m. The man’s injuries were not life threatening, but he was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for treatment.

The watch commander said the homeless man declined to offer any details about the incident other than to say the person who stabbed him was an African-American male.

A resident posting on NextDoor.com reported the man who was stabbed had been “camped out on the sidewalk at Romaine and La Cienega for several weeks.”
