LAPD Detectives Seek Help in Solving Homicide that Occurred Friday Night in Fairfax District

Los Angeles Police Department detectives on Saturday asked for the public’s help in locating a suspect or suspects in the drive-by shooting death of a Georgia man in the Fairfax District of Los Angeles.

Nazeer Ejua Defares, 24, of Decatur, Georgia was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting that occurred about 6:40 p.m. Friday at Rosewood Avenue and Gardner Street, a few blocks south of the West Hollywood border, police officials said.

Witnesses told police they heard two or three shots and found Defares on the ground between two vehicles, officials said.

There was no suspect description and the motive for the shooting was not immediately known, police said.
