Some of his recordings include Kendrick Lamar’s Pimp a Butterfly and Kamasi Washington’s The Epic, and has also released four self titled records, with the latest “Force For Good” featuring Thundercat and a host of incredible West Coast Musicians.

John Beasley 4Tet

Grammy award winning Pianist, John Beasley, has performed with Miles Davis, Freddie Hubbard, Chaka Khan, Queen Latifah, Dianne Reeves, to name a few. As a recording artist he has a dozen albums, which has earned him nine GRAMMY nominations, including six for his big band MONK’estra. He also works on film and TV projects writing, arranging and directing music specials, including blockbuster projects 1917, Finding Nemo, Skyfall and Spectre, and American Idol. Beasley is the Music Director of the Herbie Hancock Jazz institute’s that hosts the International Jazz Day global concerts. In 2016, Jazz at the White House earned Beasley an Emmy nomination.

With deep roots in South and Central America, Buyepongo draw heavily from the Latino and Afro-Indigenous musical culture. Taking their cues from traditional “roots” music of Colombia, Haiti, Belize, Honduras and the Dominican Republic, Buyepongo creates a very vibrant polyrhythmic sound by seamlessly fusing merengue, punta, cumbia and more! The group’s pulse and power is built around the drum and guacharaca (pronounced: wah cha rah cah) giving them an upbeat tropical flare.
