16-year-old charged with murder on Melrose

Around noon Wednesday, Wilshire Area LAPD officers responded to a call of a shooting with a victim down at Melrose Avenue and Genesee Avenue.  Upon arrival officers observed an adult man, Jayren Bradford ,down in the street suffering from a gunshot wound and rendered aid. 

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics transported the victim to a local area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Officers learned that there was a dispute between a group of men and women at a shoe raffle in front of a shoe store located in the 7700 block of Melrose Avenue. During the dispute Bradford arrived at the location and was shot by the suspect only described as a Hispanic male. A co-worker telephoned Bradford and told him about the conflict.  Bradford, an employee of the Shoe Palace, came to the store to assist co-workers.  When he arrived he was confronted by the group and the juvenile pulled out a gun and shot Bradford.  There are no outstanding suspects and no further threat to the community.  

West Bureau Homicide and investigators worked throughout the night looking for the shooter. They located the 16-year-old juvenile in the 8100 block of State Street in South Gate.  The juvenile was arrested without incident and was subsequently booked for the murder of 26-year-old Jayren Bradford.  The case will be presented to the District Attorney for filing consideration on Monday, August 16, 2021.

Extensive video was recovered and a thorough investigation was completed. Numerous tips came in from the community on this case and was pivotal in the quick arrest.

This is a highly volatile area just east of Fairfax HS as well as Fairfax/Rosewood where the hip hop athletic shoe culture is out of control.

Soon we will see the Wokeites Sepia Shine and John Erickson react to all this declaring the sixteen-year-old shooter was a victim of athletic shoe racism

They will promote a new commission to handle this. Perhaps even paint a crosswalk. All of ir demonstrating the fact we have two of the most ludicrous people ever elected to office in West Hollywood … a lawyer psychic and a gender studies major
