On May 2, the 29th annual LA Asian Pacific Film Festival opens with “Linsanity,” which tracks the rise of basketball star Jeremy Lin. The film shows at 7 p.m. at the Directors Guild of America, 7920 Sunset Blvd. at Fairfax. The film festival, which celebrates Asian Pacific Heritage Month, is one of the largest in Southern California. The event includes film screenings and seminars, a VIP reception and gala celebration. Films will also be screened at CGV Cinemas at 621 S. Western Avenue, Los Angeles and The Art Theatre of Long Beach at 2025 E. 4th Street, Long Beach. Tickets for individual films are $11-$13.
