Out soccer star Robbie Rogers, who told WEHOville in September that he was too busy to enjoy local nightlife or dating, apparently has found the time for at least one of those adventures.
TMZ reports that Rogers, a WeHo resident, is dating Greg Berlanti. Berlanti, 41, is known for his roles as creator, executive producer and showrunner of the TV series “Everwood.” He also wrote and directed “Broken Hearts Club,” a film about young gay men in West Hollywood. He was executive producer for the ABC series “Brothers & Sisters.”
Rogers, 26, who plays with the LA Galaxy team, caused a stir when he came out as gay in February. Rogers had just left UK’s Leeds United soccer team and was the second major British football player to reveal his homosexuality. (Justin Fashanu, who came out in 1990, killed himself in 1998 after being accused of sexual assault.)
Rogers, a native of Southern Calfornia, told WEHOville that he moved to West Hollywood because “the community here is just very open and accepting.”
