Two people were arrested for driving under the influence at a DUI checkpoint staged by the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department in West Hollywood this weekend.
The checkpoint was at the intersection of San Vicente and Beverly boulevards. According to the Sheriff’s Department, 1,069 vehicles went through the checkpoint from 7 p.m. on Saturday until 4 a.m. on Sunday. Of those, 806 drivers were stopped for a check, which included determining if they had a drivers license.
The Sheriff’s Department conducts the checkpoints are placed in locations where drunk or drugged drivers are most likely to be found as part of an effort to deter driving while intoxicated.
Anyone who gets arrest for DUI at a check point deserves to loose their drivers license for life. For that matter getting arrest at a check point for anything really questions the ability to be licensed to drive.
Most importantly they got to demonstrate their presence.
