WeHo Pedals, the City of West Hollywood’s bike sharing program, will stage a “bike share basics” class on March 20.
At the two-hour class, which is sponsored by CycleHop and taught by Sustainable Streets, students can learn all the features of the WeHo Pedals “Smart Bikes,” basic rules of the road and essential safety tips for riding the bikes safely and lawfully.
All participants will receive a free helmet and free ride time on smart bikes.
The class, which is free, begins at noon and runs until 1:30 p.m. at City Hall bike share station, 8300 Santa Monica Blvd. Those attending can register online.
Rule #1:
Do not ride your bike on city sidewalks where a bicycle lane is present. Where there is no bicycle lane present, cyclists may travel on the sidewalk in the SAME DIRECTION as vehicular traffic, and MUST YIELD to pedestrians.

Wow! Maybe they should use Havenhurst and Fountain as a test run. Since it is so safe for bikes and hardly safe for cars. The entire bike thing started with ex Los Angeles Council,man Tom LaBonge. He was always riding his bike everywhere. For media attention. And of course all the streets were blocked when he was riding it. Anyone Riding a bike around West Hollywood is out of their mind.
