Only two thefts from cars or other vehicles were reported to the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station last week, a dramatic decline from what has become the norm. And there were two mail thefts.
Below is a list of serious crimes reported by the Sheriff’s Station from May 7 to 13.
May 7
Aggravated Assault – Knife. 1000 block Curson Avenue at 11:40 a.m. A man pointed a pocket knife at the victim and threatened him during an argument in the underground parking garage of the apartment complex. #02969
Aggravated Assault – Other Weapon. 7300 block Santa Monica Boulevard at 1:32 pm. A man removed store items and placed them into his backpack. When asked to leave the store by security, the suspect became angry and started throwing store items at the victims. #02973
Grand Theft. Rosewood Avenue / Westbourne Drive between 5:30 p.m. and 7 a.m. An unknown suspect removed four pairs of prescription sunglasses from the center console and a Persian rug from the trunk of the unlocked vehicle. Loss $6,200. #02985
Other Burglary. 1100 block North Ogden Drive at 12:30 am. An unknown suspect used force on the front door to gain entry to the lobby area and removed unsecured mail packages. Amount of loss unknown. #02978

Residential Burglary (Suspects Arrested). 900 block Palm Avenue at 1:50 a.m. Two men kicked in the front door to gain access. A private security guard saw what happened and notified the Sheriff’s Station. Two men were found inside the apartment and arrested. #03005

Grand Theft. 1200 block La Brea Avenue between 3 and 7 p.m. An unknown suspect cut the lock and removed a bicycle from a storage locker located in the underground parking garage of the apartment complex. Loss $1,200. #03116
Grand Theft. 1100 block North Fuller Avenue between 5 p.m. and 5 a.m. A man removed a box of clothing from the laundry room. Loss $1,800. #03139
Other Burglary (Suspect Arrested). 1000 block North Gardner Street at 10 p.m. A man pried the garage gate open to gain access and was removing a bicycle when he was taken into custody by a responding deputy. #03063
Other Burglary (Suspect Arrested) Romaine Street / Havenhurst Drive at 4:25 p.m. A man followed a vehicle into the underground parking garage to gain access and then went to the building lobby. The suspect removed four mail packages and left the building. Responding deputies located and arrested the suspect and recovered the packages. #03055
May 12
Aggravated Assault – Hands, Fist, Feet (Suspect Arrested). 8900 block Santa Monica Boulevard
10:57 p.m. An employee was punched in the face by a man who was asked to leave the club. Deputies arrested the suspect the next day. #03121
Vehicle Burglary. 8200 block De Longpre Avenue at 1:35 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear driver’s side window and removed a backpack containing shoes from the back seat. Loss $800. #03067
Vehicle Burglary. 1100 block Vista Street between 7 p.m. and 8 a.m. An unknown suspect removed a keychain and makeup from the glovebox. No sign of forced entry. Loss $45. #03138
May 13
Grand Theft. 600 block Robertson Boulevard between 11:30 p.m. and 2 a.m. An unknown suspect removed two cell phones and two wallets from the victim’s purse while on the dance floor. Loss $2,200. #03123
Other Burglary. 8100 block Santa Monica Boulevard between 6 p.m. and 7 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the front glass door to gain access and removed a laptop computer and $6,000 from the front counter area. Loss $7,000. #03127
Residential Burglary. 1200 block La Cienega Boulevard at 11:45 a.m. A man used force on the back door to gain entry and searched the interior. The suspect was removing property and food from the kitchen when the resident returned home and interrupted him. The suspect left the property behind, took the food, and ran from the residence. Loss $450. #03108
Only two thefts from cars REPORTED. It is so difficult to report, that many people don’t bother to report it. But I bet there were more than two in actuality.
