In celebration of LGBT Pride, Wells Fargo’s West Hollywood branch yesterday unveiled a new mural highlighting the history of the local LGBT community. The design features some of the key figures, organizations and events central to the movement working to further gay rights.
The colorful-collage-style artwork unfolds along a 102-foot wall located above the teller line. This is one of the largest murals ever installed in a Wells Fargo banking location and the fifth in a series of LGBT-themed murals across retail banking locations.
Stuart Milk, an international human rights activist, LGBT rights speaker and youth advocate, spoke at the unveiling. Milk is the nephew of famed gay rights advocate Harvey Milk and president of the Harvey Milk Foundation. Customers can read about the history in a mural key and on digital displays within the bank, which is at 8571 Santa Monica Blvd. near West Knoll.
