Eight Car Break-Ins Reported in WeHo from April 29 to May 5

There were eight car break-ins reported to the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station between April 29 and May 5, a week otherwise light on crime.  That’s according to a list of serious (Part I) crimes released by the station. What follows is a list of all Part I crimes with case number included.

April 29

Aggravated Assault – Other Weapon. 1100 block La Brea Avenue at 9:40 a.m. A man attempted to hit a security guard in the face with his purse after being asked to leave the area. The suspect was arrested by responding deputies. #02774

Vehicle Burglary. 1200 block North Orange Grove Avenue between 1 and 8 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed property from the trunk. #02770

Vehicle Burglary. 8700 block Rangely Avenue between 2:20 p.m. and 1:50 p.m. the next day. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and ransacked the interior but did not take anything. #02793

Vehicle Burglary. 900 block Westbourne Drive at 3:01 a.m. A man cut the convertible top to gain access and ransacked the interior. The victim was unsure if anything was taken. #02855

April 30

Vehicle Burglary. 8900 block Ashcroft Avenue at 1 a.m.. A man smashed the front passenger’s side window to gain access but was scared away by a witness. #02789

Vehicle Burglary. 8400 block Melrose Avenue between 8:20 and 10:30 p.m.. An unknown suspect smashed the rear windshield and removed property from the trunk. #02799

May 1

Vehicle Burglary. 8600 block Sunset Boulevard  at 6 p.m. A man removed property from the front seat. No sign of forced entry. #02896

May 2

Vehicle Burglary. 1200 block Hayworth Avenue between 6:30 p.m. and 6 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the front passenger’s side window and removed property from underneath the front seat. #02851

Nothing significant to report.

May 4

Strong Arm Robbery. Melrose Avenue / Almont Drive at 3:20 a.m. The victim was standing near his vehicle when a man approached him and punched him several times in the face. The suspect pulled a messenger bag from the victim’s shoulder and then fled the area in a vehicle that was parked nearby. #02884

May 5

Grand Theft. 600 block North Robertson Boulevard  between 8 and 9 p.m. An unknown suspect removed a cell phone from the victim’s purse while on the dance floor. #02916

Grand Theft. 600 block N Robertson Boulevard  between 8:15 and 8:30 p.m.  An unknown suspect removed a cell phone and wallet from the victim’s purse while on the dance floor. #02917

Vehicle Burglary. 7100 block Santa Monica Boulevard  between 9:45 and 11:45 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed property from the back seat. #02911
